Aeromix mixing system from Ameram uses compressed air injected into the slurry in defined areas, one area at a time, via non-return valves. The action of the bubble rising to the surface physically agitates the slurry and allows oxygen to be introduced by diffusion, both from the bubbles and from the atmosphere at the constantly changing slurry surface.
The introduction of oxygen inhibits anaerobic digestion which is responsible for the production of methane H2S gases, essentially eliminating the dangers of these gases within animal housing.
A compressor is programmed to run a cycle 3 times per day ensuring the slurry remains mixed at all times. The advantages include no need to remove animals from houses before mixing, no health risks associated with harmful gases and slurry that is ready to spread all the time.
